Access Point lands Sainsburys deal

Supermarket giant J Sainsbury has appointed third-party promotions specialist Access Point UK, based in Southport, to strengthen its non-listed events programme in almost 500 stores across the UK. Non-listed events include the promotion of any product or service which is not carried by the host supermarket.

Typically, Access Point customers occupy space within a superstore for a set period to promote their products and services to the store's customers.
Managing director David Robertshaw said: "Sainsbury's has a genuine interest in the viability of local trading centres and this is one way it can provide a platform for those traders to take advantage of the majority's bulk shopping habits."
The appointment follows a 13-week trial in 46 stores.
