Marie Curie Day
In memory of the father of one of our account managers, we held a fundraising day on behalf of Marie Curie.
The team were asked to dress up in yellow and make a donation to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The charity committee also organised a raffle with prizes donated by the team. This was a great success with prizes ranging from (a lot of!) alcohol as well as chocolates, beauty treats and most popular of all.....two vouchers for Dale to make the brews for a day!
There was also a bring-and-buy cake sale which was delicious!
The team raised a fantastic grand total of £270, not bad for a day of cakes!
Charity Committee Chair Jennie said...
"The charity committees first fundraising day was an absolute success.
We decided we wanted to have a charity day in honour of Steve’s Dad and to raise as much money as possible for his family’s chosen charity Marie Curie. Everyone came into work wearing something yellow as a sign of support for the charity and also for Steve, it definitely brightened up the day!
We organised a raffle which saw some people get some great prizes and there was also a cake sale which went down a storm. Never did I think we would have raised £270 for the charity in one day.
The best part was definitely the whole office putting money down to listen to Claire’s rendition of ‘Since You Been Gone’, very entertaining! To me the day proved how much we can do for charity, even at short notice. Well done team Access Point!!!"
"I would like to thank everybody at Access Point for the wonderful charity day we had for Marie Curie dedicated to my dad James Doyle who passed away three weeks ago.
Everybody’s help, support, friendship and love will live with me for ever. The money raised will help those unfortunate people who have the same disease as my late father. Thanks again, Steve xxx”
